Italian Sausage Parmesan Meatballs

These are great as is or on top of some zucchini noodles or pasta. Make a double batch and freeze half for later! If you are freezing them I would suggest freezing before cooking in the slow cooker. Gluten Free! recipe courtesy -

  • (1 lb) Italian Sausage
  • (1/2) Ground Beef
  • (1 Cup grated) Parmesan Cheese
  • (1 Tablespoon) Italian Seasoning
  • Salt & Pepper
  • (1 can) Crushed tomatoes
  • (1/2 cup) Beef stock
  • (1/2 teaspoon (optional)) Cayenne Pepper
  • (1 teaspoon) Garlic Powder
  • (1 teaspoon) Onion Powder
  • Parsley


- Combine sausage and ground beef, parsley, 1/2 cup parmesan, 1/2 T Italian seasoning and pinch of black pepper.  Make golf ball sized balls

- Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet and brown meatballs on all sides

- Transfer meatballs to the slow cooker

- Add the sauce ingredients - Tomato sauce, stock, rest of Italian seasoning, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, 1/2 cup parmesan and parsley.  Stir gently with the meatballs

- Cook on low for 4 hours or high 2-3 hours.

Serve as is, on a sandwich, on zucchini noodles, pasta, or rice!
