Leftover beef roast? Make a French Dip sandwich!

Ingredients

  • (Cooked leftover Beef Roast)
  • (1 Tablespoon) Butter
  • (1/2 Cup chopped) Sweet Onion
  • (1/2 Cup) Red Wine
  • (2 Tablespoons) Worcestershire Sauce
  • (2 Cups) Beef Broth
  • (1/2 teaspoon) Thyme
  • (1/4 teaspoon) Pepper
  • (1) Bay Leaf
  • Your favorite crusty bread
  • (2) Garlic Cloves

Directions

  1. Melt butter in a pan over medium heat.  Add the onions and cook until soft, about 3-4 minutes.  Add garlic and cook another minute.
  2. Pour in wine, cook 3-5 minutes until wine is reduced by half.
  3. Add Worcestershire sauce, broth, thyme, black pepper and bay leaf, stir.
  4. Let mixture cook for 10 minutes.  Remove bay leaf.
  5. Meanwhile, crisp up your bread in the oven under the broiler.  Watch carefully so it doesn't burn!
  6. Place your leftover roast slices in the au jus and let warm for about a minute.
  7. Place your beef slices on your bread.  If you like it 'wet', dunk your bread in the au jus first.
  8. Serve your sandwhich with a cup of the Au Jus on the side for dipping
