Leftover beef roast? Make a French Dip sandwich!
Ingredients
- (Cooked leftover Beef Roast)
- (1 Tablespoon) Butter
- (1/2 Cup chopped) Sweet Onion
- (1/2 Cup) Red Wine
- (2 Tablespoons) Worcestershire Sauce
- (2 Cups) Beef Broth
- (1/2 teaspoon) Thyme
- (1/4 teaspoon) Pepper
- (1) Bay Leaf
- Your favorite crusty bread
- (2) Garlic Cloves
Directions
- Melt butter in a pan over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until soft, about 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and cook another minute.
- Pour in wine, cook 3-5 minutes until wine is reduced by half.
- Add Worcestershire sauce, broth, thyme, black pepper and bay leaf, stir.
- Let mixture cook for 10 minutes. Remove bay leaf.
- Meanwhile, crisp up your bread in the oven under the broiler. Watch carefully so it doesn't burn!
- Place your leftover roast slices in the au jus and let warm for about a minute.
- Place your beef slices on your bread. If you like it 'wet', dunk your bread in the au jus first.
- Serve your sandwhich with a cup of the Au Jus on the side for dipping
